Sorry, Paris. Two Beatles and Bill Nye the Science Guy did it first. We will give her a little credit, though. The selfies with her and Britney were far before the era of filters and Facetune, and yet they still look pretty great. In fact…2006 was a time in which only the rich and famous had smartphones (Sidekicks, anyone?) and most of us commoners just had flip phones. The horror! There’s no denying that Paris Hilton was a celeb of her time, starting trends like purse dogs, the entire Kardashian klan and the forever iconic phrase “that’s hot!” She had plenty of great ideas, but the selfie was not one of them.
